Speech Competition Guidelines

Remember:

• Speech topics must be cleared with the teacher before you begin your rough draft

• Speeches should be between 3-5 minutes 

• Speeches should utilize all the persuasive strategies discussed in class (attention grabber, hook, logical order, clear arguments, real life examples, strong conclusion - end with a bang!)

• Speeches should be creative and original

Homework for the Long Weekend

A few reminders this long weekend:


- Science Fair will be on Wednesday (all day) for the selected teams
-Speech Competition topics and explanation are due on Tuesday
- Any non-returned tests need to be brought to class by Tuesday.

Report Cards Sent Home Today

Dear Parents,

Report Cards will be sent home today. Please note that the results for the CTBS test as well the time slot requests for the Student-Led Conference day will also be in the envelope. 

Have a wonderful long weekend! Remember, there is no school on Friday or Monday. 

Arabic Speakers: A message from Tr. Amal

اولياء الأمور الكرام السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

أود أن أحيطكم علما بأننا أنهينا المقرر الدراسي لهذه الفترة قراءة وكتابة سواء كانت - امتحان في درس القراءة أو النصوص أو اختبارات فجائية قصيرة لمعرفة مدى استيعاب التلاميذ لما درس

هذا إلى جانب التعبير الشفهي ( الاستماع إلى القرص المدمج فالإجابة عن الأسئلة الموجهة ثم تلخيص المسموع بأسلوب التلميذ) أو التعبير الكتابي. أما في مادة القواعد تعرف تلاميذنا الأعزاء

على الأسماء الخمسة وإعرابها ثم التطبيق عليها بتدريبات من الكتاب المدرسي وأنشطة خارجية مناسبة لمستوى التلاميذ.

في هذه الفترة سنتاول في القراءة موضوع سيف الله المسلول  وفي النصوص سنتناول نصا يتناسب مع موضوع درس القراءة وهو (عمر ورسول كسرى) لأمير الشعراء أحمد شوقي

أما في القواعد فسوف نتوقف عند اسم الفاعل هذا إلى جاانب الأنشطة الأخرى مثل الاستماع - التلخيص- كتابة فقرات حول موضوع معين وأبحاث تتعلق بمواضيع القراءة.      ة

Field Trip Tomorrow

Field Trip tomorrow for Grade 7 and 8 to the Canadian War Museum. 

The trip will be from 8:30 - 12pm.

Quran: Update from Tr. Samia

Alhamdullah we finished reciting and memorizing the first half of surat Al-Mumtahinah  and  we will have a test on them Monday Februray 11th Insha Allah . This test will be on Tajweed rules, reading rules and memorization of the assigned Ayas , so please practice with your child using this website and go to Sheikh Ibrahim Alakhadar: http://quran.ksu.edu.sa
