Assalam Alikum

Grade 7 will have a Math Quiz on Monday  November 25th in lessons 2.2, 2.3 and 2.6 (Ratio, Rates and Percentage)
On Thursday  November 28th they will have a Math Test in Unit 2. It includes ratio, rate, percentage and using long division and multiplication of decimals.

Updates from Tr. Nancy

Dear Parents,
Assalamu Alaikum

We have finished the Sources unit in ResearchReady. As a result, the students had a quiz last Thursday. Next Thursday,November 14, 2013, they will receive their quiz, and we will discuss it together, inshaAllah.
In addition to the quiz discussion, we will be starting a new unit on Internet 101.

This unit consists of the following:

*      Structure of a URL;
*      Real -World Scenario: Searching in the Subdomain;
*      Top-Level Domains;
*      Real-World Scenario: What’s the TLD? ;
*      Who Can Publish on the Web? ;
*      Real-World Scenario: Climate Change;
*      Wikipedia;
*      Real-World Scenario: Is it Accurate? ;
*      The Invisible Web;
*      Real-World Scenario: Invisible Information.

At the end of this unit, there will be a quiz. Although we discuss the subject matter before the lessons are given, it is of the utmost importance that the students complete all the lessons as they are given.

Reminder: Language Arts Test on the Short Story "The Necklace" this Monday

Reminder about the upcoming test on the short story "The Necklace". The test will be on Monday November 11th, 2013. Here's what you need to know: 

-plot line diagram 
- comprehension questions covered in class
- vocabulary sheet
- key terms such as: irony, characterization, and contrast
- Most importantly: be able to support your opinions with proof from the text!

Alhamdulilah! We have finished memorizing suratul Jum’aa and we are now in the middle of Suraht Assaff. The final memorization test in Surat Assaff will be on Monday, November  25th, 2013, Insha’Allah.

Reminder: Comparison Essay Due Monday

Language Arts: Reminder that the Comparison Essay on the lives of Helen Keller and Malcolm X are due Monday. Don't forget the essay should be typed, double spaced, and should include a proper title page.
